DOT Smartwatch | DOT Sticker | Student Work

Imagine a world where the visually impaired enjoys the perks of technology as anyone else.

This idea won a silver trophy in the Mexican ad festival El Círculo de Oro 2018 and got a shortlist in the Latinamerican Festival FIAP in 2017.

CONTEXT

Most of the products in the supermarket have no braille translation, and this is one of the most significant obstacles for the visually impaired.

IDEA

DOT Sticker is a sticker solution from DOT Inc Incorporation with RFID technology that allows the visually impaired to read essential information of any product just by touching or by approximation.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

DOT Sticker uses radio-frequency to establish a connection with a Dot Smartwatch.

When a Dot Smartwatch detects a Dot sticker, the user will get all the essential information of the product is touching, such as the name, price tag, expiration date, size, nutrition facts, and more.

The top button allows to read more, the lower button allows to go back to previous information, and by shaking, the user goes back home.

Reused and placed anywhere. Dot Sticker is so small and resistant with a long life use.
